PM Shehbaz Leads Charge Against Climate Change

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on Saturday, directed the formation of a committee tasked with identifying problems related to climate change and devising strategies to address them.
This directive came during a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister regarding the Ministry of Climate Change.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister received a briefing on the progress of policies and projects related to climate change.
Emphasizing the significance of the issue, he highlighted that Pakistan, despite having a minimal role in contributing to climate destruction, was among the countries most severely affected by its consequences.
He stressed the necessity for a comprehensive and effective strategy to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that climate change had implications for various sectors including agriculture, energy, water, and infrastructure. He underscored the need for a coordinated approach to tackle these challenges.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, along with senior officials from relevant departments and experts in the field of climate change.
