Hindu Community Spreads Joy with Colorful Holi Festivities

Islamabad: The Hindu community in different cities of Pakistan celebrated the spring festival of Holi on Monday. 

The Pakistan Hindu and Sikh Welfare Association organized special worship services at the temple and distributed prasad among the devotees. A significant number of Hindus participated in the festivities, engaging in the tradition of throwing colors afterward.

Member of the National Assembly and patron-in-chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council, Dr Ramesh Kumar, highlighted the essence of celebrating the Holi festival, emphasizing its role in promoting love and harmony among all religions. 

“Wishing all our Hindu community a very happy Holi, the festival of colors,” he added.

The Hindu community celebrated Holi in a traditional manner, with festivities observed in Bahawalpur and various villages of Cholistan.

The celebrations commenced in different districts, with members joyfully sprinkling colors on each other.

Holi, known as the festival of colors or the festival of sharing love, is an ancient Hindu festival that has gained popularity among non-Hindus in many regions, including South Asia. It symbolizes the spirit of sharing love and joy through the act of sprinkling colors.

In Bahawalpur, Holi was celebrated by Balkimi Hindus, while in Cholistan, Bheel and Mangwal Hindu communities joined in the festivities.

Additionally, the Hindu community in Mirpurkhas division observed Holi with simplicity, honoring the ongoing month of Ramazan.

The main event in Mirpurkhas took place at Lal Mandir, attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mirpurkhas Captain (retd) Asad Ali Chaudhry and minority leader Seth Karan Hari Ram Kishori Lal. 

SSP Chaudhry presented sweets to Karan Hari Ram, extending his well wishes for the festival and emphasizing the importance of fostering mutual love and peace.

Other notable attendees included DSP City Mirpurkhas Sikander Ali Samejo, DIB Incharge Danish Bhatti, and SHO Town Police Station Amin Mari, all expressing their support for the betterment of the city and its residents.
