Northern Balochistan to Experience Biting Cold, Dry Weather

Islamabad: The Met Office has Predicted very cold and dry weather in Quetta and its neighbouring areas.
The forecast indicates continued cold and dry conditions in most districts of Balochistan today, with the northern districts likely to experience severe weather. A severe cold wave has gripped the northern and northwestern regions of Balochistan, leading to heavy snowfall in hilly areas.
Efforts are underway to restore connectivity on the connecting roads affected by the snowfall. However, according to local sources people in affected areas of Balochistan are in great trouble citing delay in rescue and rehabilitation activities.
Deputy Commissioner Raja Athar Abbas has reported that maintenance work is ongoing in various areas, including Toba Achakzai, Khawaja Imran, Toba Kakadi, Ziarat, Kanjoghi, and the Quetta Chaman highway, making them accessible for all types of traffic.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) has confirmed the restoration of traffic on the N-50 highway in Khan Mehtarzai, thereby reinstating land connectivity between Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Similarly, the weather is extremely cold in Kalat, Ziarat, Zhob, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, and Mastung.
