Cholistan Desert Rally Ready to Thrill on February 20

Bahawalpur: A high-level meeting was convened under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur, Zaheer Anwar Jappa, to assess the preparations for the upcoming 19th TDCP International Cholistan Desert Rally and Cultural Festival scheduled to commence on February 20.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa emphasized the need for timely completion of all arrangements for the Cholistan Desert Rally. Key areas such as traffic management, parking, rally routes, craft and food stalls, as well as sports events, were highlighted for thorough planning.
Deputy Commissioner Jappa conducted a comprehensive review of the performance of various committees assigned to manage different aspects of the rally. He specifically instructed that special attention should be given to facilitating tourists attending the Cholistan Desert Rally.
The inauguration ceremony for the 19th Cholistan Desert Rally is set to take place on February 20, with the registration and technical inspection of participating vehicles scheduled for February 21. Subsequently, a qualifying round will be held in Cholistan on February 22, followed by the first round of prepared cars and dirt bike races on February 23. A cultural show is also planned for this day.
On February 24, the rally will feature the prepared category race and truck race, culminating in a prize distribution ceremony. The Cholistan Fort will be illuminated with beautiful lights during the rally, creating a visually captivating atmosphere.
Additionally, the organizers highlighted various cultural events scheduled for the International Cholistan Desert Rally venue. These include cultural shows, folk music performances, a qawwali night, kabaddi matches, traditional wrestling competitions, as well as volleyball and tug of war contests. The diverse range of activities aims to enhance the overall experience for attendees.
