1886 Cameras to Make Rawalpindi Safe

Rawalpindi: As many as 1886 cameras under the Rawalpindi Safe City Project have been installed at 306 locations to enhance security and make Garrison into a safe city.

The Punjab Police Integrated Command, Control, and Communication Centre in Rawalpindi has been established to monitor the city’s security through a digital wall connected to these cameras.

A spokesperson for the district administration revealed that the swift completion of installing 1886 cameras at 306 locations in Rawalpindi was a significant accomplishment under the Safe City Project. Plans are in motion to replicate similar projects in 18 other cities within the Punjab region.

Emphasizing the Punjab government’s dedication to enhancing facilities in Rawalpindi, the spokesperson highlighted various ongoing projects, including the construction of the Ring Road, Dadocha Dam, the Signal Free Corridor from Katcheri Chowk to Pirwadhai Mor, and additional road infrastructure initiatives.

The Rawalpindi district police and administration are actively contributing to the city’s development.

The spokesperson commended the remarkable efficiency in completing the high-quality Safe City Project, noting that what would typically take a year was achieved in just 45 days.
