News Desk
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that voters with expired national identity cards (CNIC) can still participate in the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8.
Sohail Ahmad, the spokesperson for the Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday, informed that individuals with expired identity cards are eligible to vote.
However, he emphasized that voters must present the original copy of their identity card at the polling station; otherwise, they will not be permitted to exercise their right to vote.
This decision by the ECP aims to facilitate the participation of hundreds of thousands of voters in the elections.
Ahmad mentioned that a significant number of individuals have been inquiring about their eligibility due to the expiration of their identity cards.
