Rawalpindi’s Poetic Heritage Explored in Hashmi’s Book

Islamabad: Farzand Ali Hashmi is a determined and creative individual, consistently producing unique and exceptional work, said Dr Humera Ishfaq, speaking at the book launch event of the young poet, writer, and researcher Hashmi.
Dr Humera commended Hashmi as a determined and passionate individual who consistently delivers something extraordinary through his pen and paper.
The event, which launched Hashmi’s book “RawalPindi ki Shairi Riwayat,” was organized by “Zawiya” under the auspices of the Academy of Letters in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Khawar Ijaz, a poet, writer, and critic from Rawal Des, presided over the literary ceremony, emphasizing Hashmi’s deep exploration into preserving the poetic traditions of Rawalpindi. Ijaz noted that Hashmi also shed light on previously overlooked aspects of Pindi’s literary circles.
Dr Arshad Mahmood Nashad praised Hashmi’s work, describing it as a manifestation of the author’s dedication and commitment to the poetic heritage of his region, specifically Pothohar. He extended his congratulations on the completion of this significant research effort.
Dr Zahid Hassan Chughtai, a literary figure, highlighted the evident value of Hashmi’s book, anticipating its utility for future researchers. He expressed confidence that it would become a valuable resource for inclusion in upcoming research projects.
Dr Ravish Nadeem acknowledged the challenging task undertaken by Hashmi in exploring and compiling the traditions of the region. He praised the book for containing essential elements that could serve as a foundation for future researchers, emphasizing the valuable addition of proper references, footnotes, and bibliography.
Dr Abid Sial expressed the belief that Hashmi’s work would make a meaningful contribution to the literary sphere.
