Islamabad: The Enforcement Wing of the Capital Development Authority carried out an operation targeting the proprietors of a plastic factory located in Sector I-13, Shams Colony, Islamabad.
The operation was prompted by concerns about environmental pollution caused by the smoke emanating from the factory in the area.
Acting upon the directives of Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Captain (Retired) Anwar ul Haq, concrete and efficient measures have been implemented to safeguard Islamabad’s natural beauty from environmental pollution and smog.
Earlier, the factory owners were summoned and appeared before the court of the Senior Special Magistrate CDA. Following the proceedings, the Senior Special Magistrate ordered the immediate sealing of the accused factories, imposed fines, sentenced the offenders to imprisonment, and remanded them in custody.
Providing additional details, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman CDA had issued stringent instructions to the Enforcement, Environment, and Sanitation Wing a few days earlier, emphasizing swift action to preserve Islamabad’s natural beauty and combat environmental pollution and smog.
The directive emphasized that the operation should be conducted impartially and without interruptions; otherwise, departmental actions would be taken against the responsible officials.
During this development, the CDA administration affirmed that no one would be permitted to compromise the natural beauty of Islamabad.
