ECP Issues Notice to GDA Candidate for CoC Violation

Islamabad: The District Monitoring Officer from the Election Commission of Pakistan has served a show-cause notice to Irfanullah Khan Marwat, a Grand Democratic Alliance candidate contesting PS-105 in the Sindh Assembly, Karachi East, for violating the code of conduct.
Dr Mohsin Ali, the District Monitoring Officer of Karachi East, has directed Marwat to provide a response within the next two days concerning the aerial firing incident at the election rally, citing a breach of clause 17 in the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) code of conduct.
Referring to paragraph 17 of the code, he emphasized that any form of firing, including aerial firing, the use of fireworks, and other explosives at public meetings and near polling stations by any individual, will not be permitted, and such a violation will be considered an illegal practice.
