Dr Jamal Directs BBH Renovation by January 31

Rawalpindi: Caretaker Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare and Population Welfare, Dr Jamal Nasir, on Thursday directed the officials concerned to complete the reconstruction and renovation work of the Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) outdoor Patient Department by January 31.
During a visit to review the ongoing BBH’s renovation work, Dr Jamal said that the OPD, including the pathology, eye ward, ENT, dentistry, skin, and blood bank departments, would be functional by the end of this month.
The minister said that available funds would be provided to nursing hostels and colleges that would be fully functional in February.
He also inspected the hospital’s basement and said that work was being carried out to lay a new water supply and sewage system to resolve the issue of water seepage.
Dr Jamal Nasir said that the repair and reconstruction work on the three blocks of Doctors Hostel was being started for Rs 140 million.
He said that the Punjab government was committed to providing the best kind of health facilities to the residents of Rawalpindi, and more than three billion rupees had been provided for the reconstruction and repair of Holy Family Hospital.
