FJWU Celebrates As 1143 Graduates Embark on Socioeconomic Journeys

Rawalpindi: As many as 1,143 graduating students from diverse disciplines at Fatima Jinnah Women’s University have set out on their socio-economic journeys. The accomplished students were conferred degrees at the convocation held at Fatima Jinnah Women’s University on Thursday.
The degrees were awarded across various academic levels, with 18 PhD, 155 MPhil, 08 Masters, and 962 Bachelor students honored during the convocation. This significant event marks the culmination of their academic endeavors and the beginning of their contributions to the broader societal landscape.Addressing the convocation, Governor Punjab and Chancellor Mohammad Baligh Ur Rehman lauded the graduates for their outstanding achievements, underscoring the crucial role of education in shaping responsible citizens for Pakistan’s future. Baligh Ur Rehman said, “To foster growth, we must strive to improve every day, every week, and every month. Whatever endeavor we pursue, let it be guided by the principles of kindness. Whether it involves working with computers, acquiring knowledge, or learning new technologies, approaching these tasks with a mindset of compassion and benevolence ensures not only personal advancement but also contributes to positive and inclusive collective progress.” The Governor said this significant event marks the culmination of their academic endeavors and the beginning of their contributions to the broader societal landscape.He further said, “Let us support one another. As human beings, we must always remember that perfection cannot be expected from anyone in our society or from any individual. Instead, we should focus on recognizing and promoting the positive qualities of others. Collaboration should be a constant effort. I am confident that you will continue to achieve success.”
The Governor highlighted the vital aspects of research, character building, collaborative initiatives, resilience, and empathy that the graduates have embraced throughout their tenure at Fatima Jinnah Women’s University.
FJWU VC Dr Uzaira said it is important to recognize that a female graduate is also a good mother, her contribution extends to training her children and shaping them into better individuals for society. She added educated women contribute to financial management not only through formal employment but also through their responsibilities on the domestic front. Unfortunately, these domestic contributions are often overlooked as part of the financial contribution to society.She said that FJWU has significantly expanded its academic offerings, catering to a total of 7,265 students across 80-degree programs. The university has also inaugurated three new institutes and additional departments, exemplifying FJWU’s commitment to providing a wide array of academic pathways. These initiatives underscore the institution’s dedication to fostering an environment conducive to academic expression and innovation among its students, Dr Uzaira added in her speech. The VC also commended the graduation of Nazli Alam at the age of 58, emblematic of FJWU’s dedication to providing education without age boundaries and ensuring inclusivity. This accomplishment reflects the university’s commitment to making education accessible to individuals of all ages, reinforcing its values of diversity and inclusion, she observed. She underscored the enduring significance of these qualities in navigating future challenges and opportunities. Stressing that education is a lifelong journey, he highlighted that the graduates are well-equipped with essential skills in the age of Artificial Intelligence, enabling them to continually adapt in a rapidly evolving world.
