ABKU Staff Urges KP Govt Intervention for Grant

Islamabad: The Academic Staff Association of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has called upon the KP Governor and Chief Minister to intervene in resolving the university’s ongoing challenges and expedite the release of the grant.

This action is vital to providing much-needed relief to the employees.

According to the press release issued by the cabinet on Tuesday, an emergency cabinet meeting was held on January 2 this week.

In the meeting, the Higher Education Department of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was criticized for halting the university’s adoption of the Adhoc Relief Allowance 2023.

It was observed that the increase was approved by the government for the employees in the 2023 budget, and every government employee is getting this increase from July 1, 2023.

The provincial government had earlier approved a grant of 162 million for Abdul Wali Khan University for the financial year 2023-2024, which has not been released so far, as mentioned in the press release.
