Dhai Chaal’ Unveils Balochistan’s Truth

Islamabad: Areej Chaudhry, Miss Pakistan and an integral part of the action-packed film “Dhai Chaal,” expressed how the movie fulfilled her lifelong dream of rectifying the misrepresented image of Balochistan. The region, inaccurately depicted as a terrorism-affected area by hostile entities, finds its truth unveiled through this film.

In an exclusive conversation during a screening of the movie for underprivileged and orphaned children at a local cinema, Chaudhry, known for portraying Zolzai, a Pakistani agent in “Dhai Chaal,” shared her journey.

She highlighted the film’s uniqueness, being based on real-life events including the capture of Indian spy Kulbushan Yadav. Director Taimoor Sherazi’s detailed guidance helped her portray the character authentically. Chaudhry’s proficiency in firearms, stemming from her background and training, facilitated her use of actual weapons on set, enhancing her performance in the assigned role.

Encouraging the youth, especially girls, she emphasized the film’s characters inspired by real-life heroes who invisibly defend the nation’s borders and ideals. She highlighted India’s negative portrayal of Balochistan and Pakistan in propaganda films, sharing her experience countering accusations of Pakistan being labeled a terrorist state during beauty pageants.

For her, “Dhai Chaal” was an opportunity to not only develop her skills but also serve her country by showcasing its true essence through art.

Addressing concerns about Indian media’s propagation of hatred and misinformation, Chaudhry affirmed her readiness to counter such criticisms with clarity and eloquence.

In a message to Pakistani girls, she urged strength and self-belief in pursuing challenging tasks, advocating for basic self-defense skills, driving, and firearm knowledge for their safety in hostile situations.

The screening in Islamabad, organized by Areej Chaudhry, attracted personalities from diverse backgrounds. Attendees hailed “Dhai Chaal” as an eye-opener, praising its unprecedented presentation of facts. They highlighted its relevance in exposing terrorism’s impact on Pakistan and endorsed its importance for the younger generation.
