It is important to mention here that people living in the northern regions of Pakistan face various challenges shaped by their geographical location, topography, and socio-economic factors.

The extreme cold and heavy snowfall in the winter months make living conditions difficult, impacting daily life, agriculture, and infrastructure. Due to the reason, remote areas often lack access to basic amenities like healthcare, education, clean water, and proper sanitation facilities. The rugged terrain makes it challenging to build and maintain infrastructure.

The geographical isolation limits economic opportunities. Subsistence agriculture and limited industries often fail to provide sustainable livelihoods. Tourism, though promising, may not be fully utilized due to inadequate infrastructure and seasonal limitations.

Remote mountainous areas face infrastructural difficulties such as poor road networks, limited transportation, and unreliable communication systems, which can hinder access to markets and essential services.

Deforestation, soil erosion, and the impact of climate change pose threats to the fragile ecosystem of the region. The melting glaciers can lead to water scarcity and affect agriculture and livelihoods.

In some areas, conservative cultural norms may limit opportunities for women in education and employment, restricting their participation in economic and social development.
