RDA Advances Towards a Digital Era with EFOAS Implementation

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Governing Body has approved the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the RDA and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) for the implementation of the E-Filing and Office Automation System (EFOAS).
The EFOAS services would be helpful in the timely and effective management of official daily tasks and progress towards a paperless office environment in the public sector. The system ensures every correspondence is digitally accessible round-the-clock.
Under the chairmanship of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaqat Ali Chatta, the 65th Governing Body meeting was held on Tuesday. The RDA Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa and the concerned directors gave a detailed presentation on the agenda items to the governing body.
The meeting approved the contract agreement between RDA and NADRA for biometric verification services for the proper and lawful transfer of the properties.
It also approved the reserve price for billboards and the RDA parking plaza assessed by the price assessment committee to increase revenue generation by 100 percent.
Moreover, the body endorsed the decision taken in Capital Development Authority(CDA) that processing of housing schemes, commercial buildings, etc. physically falls under Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) limits jurisdiction as identified by the Survey of Pakistan.
The body also approved a refund of the fee collected by RDA against under-process cases of the building plans.
The Commissioner appreciated efforts made by RDA to ensure transparency in property transfers.
