Furthermore, the President urged the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Commission (HEC) to collaborate with universities in shaping curricula and departments that align with the demands of the job market. This strategic approach would enhance the employability of graduates and contribute to the country’s growth.
Referring to the shortage of professionals, especially in the medical field, in the country, Dr Alvi advised female professionals not to sit at home after completing their degree.
The literacy rate in the country is alarmingly low as over 20 million (or 40 percent) of children are currently out of school, stated Dr Arif, adding that to accommodate all the children at once, the government would need 55,000 more schools which would be unaffordable.Chancellor further said that the mosques could be utilised for providing education, besides the use of the latest technology to educate the children while sitting at home.
QAU Vice Chancellor mentioned that the current management of the university plans to optimise administrative processes by identifying and addressing inefficiencies to save time and resources.
We also aim to implement digital solutions across campus services and administrative processes in the near future, he added.
