Day Two: KP’s Five Divisions Anti-Polio Effort Gains Momentum

Peshawar: An anti-polio campaign targeting to vaccinate 6.3 million children continued for the second day in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) five divisions, and 1.2 million have been vaccinated so far.

The campaign is being conducted in Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Malakand and Hazara Divisions, stated the Health Department.

It added that vitamin A drops are also being given to children, along with polio drops.

Health authorities further said that 34000 polio teams are participating in the campaign, while 54,000 police personnel have been deployed for the security of polio teams.

It is pertinent to mention here that two polio cases were reported from KP this year.
