Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Ring Road project would become a harbinger of development in the region which would provide market linkages to the economic zones and create alternate business opportunities for the business community, said Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaquat Ali Chatta.

The 38.3-kilometre-long ring road project has formally started and will be completed in one-year, informed Commissioner.

It will have a total of five interchanges at Banth, Chak Bali Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian. Moreover, an industrial zone would be set up around the Ring Road.

Rawalpindi Ring Road is a very important public welfare project, Liaquat Ali stated, adding that today, the elements who were saying that the Rawalpindi Ring Road project has been shelved would be disappointed.

Commissioner Ali further said the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) plays a crucial role in the implementation of the development projects for Rawalpindi and the quick progress of these initiatives.

Chatta added that the Ring Road project is a new chapter in the development of Rawalpindi city. It would aid in reducing traffic congestion on city roads and facilitating the movement of the population of adjacent areas.
