Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaquat Ali Chatta visited the Rawalpindi Ring Road project site at Gorakhpur Terahia to review the work plan and pace of work. The project has formally started and will be completed in one year.

The 38.3-kilometre-long ring road will have a total of five interchanges at Banth, Chak Bali Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian. Moreover, an industrial zone would be set up around the Ring Road.

Rawalpindi Ring Road is a very important public welfare project, the Commissioner said, adding that today, the elements who were saying that the Rawalpindi Ring Road project has been shelved would be disappointed.

The Commissioner said the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) plays a crucial role in the implementation of the development projects for Rawalpindi and the quick progress of these initiatives.

He added that the Ring Road project is a new chapter in the development of Rawalpindi city. It would aid in reducing traffic congestion on city roads and facilitating the movement of the population of adjacent areas.
