90 % Housing Societies in KP Declared Illegal: Report

Peshawar: The Local Government Department of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has released a report declaring 90 percent of the province’s housing societies as illegal or unregistered, with only 10 percent operating legally.

According to the report, 60 percent of the housing societies in KP were identified as illegal, while 30 percent were unregistered. Out of a total of 822 housing societies in the province, only 80 are registered and legally operating.

The report provided a breakdown of the housing societies across various divisions: 254 in Dera Ismail Khan, 247 in Peshawar, 77 in Malakand, 74 in Hazara, 73 in Bannu, 67 in Mardan, and 30 in Kohat.
