Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi police have expedited the investigation process, submitting challans for all cases from 2022 and 2023, along with 75 percent of those registered in 2024, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rawalpindi.
Following directives from City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, significant progress has been made in the investigation of cases.
SSP (Investigations) Saba Sattar, in a statement on Thursday, confirmed that no cases from 2022 and 2023 remain pending, while challans for cases from the first nine months of 2024 have been submitted in court.
“Of the 30,737 cases registered this year, challans for 23,000 have been submitted to the courts,” Sattar said.
SSP Zunaira emphasized that effective investigation and prosecution are essential for ensuring justice. “The arrest and challaning of accused individuals aid in their prosecution and punishment,” she stated.
Furthermore, sub-divisional police officers and station house officers have been instructed to ensure the timely submission of challans. Senior officers are also directly overseeing investigations in serious cases to maintain efficiency and justice.
