Peshawar: About 65 percent of youth faced employment challenges and were eager to enjoy the good things in life, such as sports and recreational facilities.
These issues were discussed by Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Central President Aftab Khan Sherpao and National Think Tank Chairman Dr Syed Akhtar Ali Shah during a meeting at Watan Kor in Peshawar on Saturday.
Sikandar Sherpao, QWP KP-Chapter President, Dr Farooq Khan, and QWP Spokesperson Tariq Khan were also present.
They observed that the common man was under the severe pressure of high inflation, making it difficult to afford basic necessities. Additionally, a large portion of the population lacked access to potable water.
They agreed that increasing terrorism had further complicated life, severely impacting the economy, particularly in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. They also concurred that socio-economic development requires financial resources.
The Constitution provides a mechanism for fiscal federalism, wherein revenues from various sources should be distributed among the federation and the provinces. They emphasized that the federal government, within the constitutional framework, should allocate Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa its due share of resources.
