6 Killed, 8 Injured in Helicopter Crash in North Waziristan

Islamabad: A helicopter operated by Mari Petroleum, a leading oil and gas exploration company in Pakistan, crashed in North Waziristan on Saturday afternoon, killing six people and injuring eight others.

According to initial reports, the Mari Petroleum spokesperson confirmed that the crash was caused by a technical fault in the helicopter’s engine. The aircraft had four individuals on board, including three Russian pilots and a Pakistani crew member.

The incident occurred in a remote area of North Waziristan. Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, and the injured have been transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Authorities, alongside Mari Petroleum, are investigating the cause of the technical malfunction. Further details are awaited.
