500 Primary Health Centers to be Functional Soon: Dr Nadeem

Islamabad: Health Minister Dr Nadeem Jan said that the project of upgrading and fully functioning 500 primary health centers (PHCs) across the country is being completed within two months.

The initiative will strengthen the primary healthcare system countrywide in the true sense and ensure quality healthcare at people’s door step, he added.

Dr Jan further said that the government is working on the agenda of strengthening and reforming the health system in the short term.In this regard, an integrated strategy to ensure universal health coverage has been formulated as well.

While inaugurating the state-of-the-art Mother and Child Health Center in Tangi, Charsadda, on Friday, the minister told that an ambulance and Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath lab) will be provided to the hospital soon.

The government is making efforts to provide modern facilities to rural people, Minister Jan added.

He reiterated thatthe society cannot develop without health and education.
