37 Fresh Covid cases In 24 hours: NIH

Islamabad: At least 37 new Covid-19 cases were reported nationwide during the last 24 hours, according to the data released by National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad on Wednesday. The case positivity rate is 0.77 per cent and13 patients are in critical condition.
As per the data shared by NIH, no death is reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 4,831 Covid-19 tests are conducted nationwide.
As many as 957 tests were conducted in Lahore out of which 18 cases are confirmed with a ratio of 1.88 per cent, while 345 tests were conducted in Islamabad out of which four cases are reported confirmed with a ratio of 1.16 per cent.
National Health Services Regulations and Coordination (NHSRC) Minister Abdul Qadir Patel said that the government has reinforced the role of the Border and Health Services for the purpose of handling any Covid-19 sub-variants.
He informed that airports are included in the surveillance system which is present at all entry points of the country. There will be rapid testing and screening of passengers at all airports
Abdul Qadir urged people not to believe rumours and assured them that everything is under control. Corona case passivity ratio is merely 0.3 to 0.5 in the country while 90 percent of the populace have already got the Covid-19 vaccine, he added.
“Pakistan has a fully operational system with a qualified management team that is ready to prepare an emergency plan to handle any sub-variant of Covid-19 and to remain attentive,” the NHSRC minister added.
He stated that Border and Health Services Pakistan is responsible for ensuring the application of international health regulations. Qadir Patel claimed that the country’s health system is completely equipped to handle any sub-variant of the Omicron form of Covid-19, including BF.7, in the event of an unfortunate circumstance.
