35 Killed, Dozens Injured in Car Ramming in China

Beijing: A tragic incident occurred on Monday evening in Zhuhai, southern China, when a car rammed into pedestrians at the Zhuhai Sports Centre, resulting in 35 deaths and 43 injuries, local police reported on Tuesday.

The 62-year-old driver, identified as Fan, drove an SUV through the gate of the sports center and struck individuals exercising on the internal roads.

The police discovered Fan in his car, attempting to harm himself, and quickly intervened, sending him to the hospital.

He is currently in a coma and unable to undergo interrogation due to self-inflicted injuries. Police have described the attack as a “serious and vicious incident.”
