Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has foiled a major human trafficking attempt in the Saddar area of Karachi, rescuing 33 women and arresting four suspects, including a woman.
According to officials, the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle conducted raids on two hotels located near the Passport Office Saddar, where the women were being held prior to being sent abroad.
During the operation, authorities detained the women along with suspected human traffickers and agents. A total of 29 passports and other relevant documents were recovered from the suspects’ possession.

Initial investigations revealed that the women were being prepared for travel to the United Arab Emirates on visit visas. However, officials said the actual intent was to exploit them through prostitution and other forms of sexual abuse.
The FIA confirmed that three separate cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act 2018.
Authorities said further investigations are underway to uncover the broader network involved in the trafficking operation and to identify any additional accomplices.
