33 Corona Cases Reported In One Week: NIH

Islamabad: As many as 33 new Coronavirus cases are reported nationwide during the last one week and the case positivity ratio is 1.04 percent, confirmed Health Officials.

As per the data shared by the National Institute of Health (NIH), no death is reported in the last 24 hours and a total of 3,176 Covid-19 tests were conducted during the last week.

National Health Services Regulations and Coordination (NHSRC) Caretaker Federal Minister Dr Nadeem Jan that the government has reinforced the role of the Border Health Services Pakistan for the purpose of handling any Covid-19 sub-variants.

Minister Nadeem stated that there is a surveillance system at all entry points of the country including airports. There will be rapid tests and screening of passengers at all airports.

90 percent of the country’s population already got the Covid-19 vaccine, Dr Jan added.

Caretaker Minister further said that an efficient system with a proper management team is fully functional in the country to remain vigilant and is ready to make an emergency plan to deal with any sub-variant of Covid-19.

He said the Border and Health Services Pakistan is responsible for ensuring the implementation of international health regulations. He further added that the country’s health system is completely equipped to handle any sub-variant of the Omicron form of Covid-19, including BF.7, in the case of any untoward situation.
