17 Killed, 23 Injured in Rain Related Incidents in KP

Peshawar: At least 17 people were killed and 23 reported injured due to the prolonged spell of rain that started continuously on Thursday evening in different parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, said DG Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Muhammad Qaiser Khan on Saturday.
As many as 21 houses were reported as completely destroyed, while 17 were partially destroyed, he added.
Qaiser Khansaid that PDMA is working to open closed roads and provide facilities to people stuck in rain and landslides.
Six tourists have been rescued in Malam Jabba, said DG.
He said that directives have been issued to all DCs in this regard.
Apart from humans, reports about the perishing of livestock have also been received from the authorities of Rescue 1122 KP.
The deceased include children, women, and men who died because of the caving in of the roofs of their houses.
