Survivor Of Domestic Abuse Admitted to LGH

Lahore: A 12-member special medical board consisting of professors and senior doctors is formed to medically examine and treat the 15-year-old victim of domestic violence.

The victim– Rizwana of Sargodha–has been admitted to the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) and is being treated in the ICU.

Ameer ud Din Medical College Principal Dr Muhammad Al-Fareed Zafar has formed the medical board which is headed by Prof Jodat Saleem. The board will determine the injuries of the girl along with conducting a medical examination and a complete medical report will soon be prepared.

Dr Zafar himself visited the injured girl and met her family on Tuesday and stated that he would personally oversee the situation in order to provide the girl with the best medical care possible.

Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Khalid bin Aslam informed that Rizwana was referred from District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ)Rehbar Hospital Sargodha on July 24 and was brought to the Emergency Department of the LGH around 4:00 p.m. while doctors immediately provided medical assistance to improve her condition.

Dr Aslam added that the health professionals were on 24-hour duty for the treatment and care of the girl.
