12 Dead, Four Injured in Rain-Related Incidents

Islamabad: At least 12 members of a family were killed and four others were injured in separate rain-related incidents across different parts of the country over the last 24 hours.
In the first fatal incident, a catastrophic landslide early Friday morning crushed a house in the Patrak area of Dir Bala, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of 12 lives from a single family, including nine children and two women.
The community is in shock and mourning. Rescue sources reported that heavy rainfall late at night triggered the landslide. Among the deceased are two women, nine children, and one man, all members of the same family. Police and rescue teams arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies from the debris, and transferred them to the hospital.
In the second incident, four people, including a woman, were injured due to roof collapses caused by overnight rain near Kotri Khanpur Dam early Friday morning.
According to Rescue 1122, the family members were asleep in a room of their dilapidated house when its roof collapsed at dawn due to the prolonged rain. Rescue teams arrived, removed the injured from the debris, and transported them to hospitals.
